Gulmarg, Jan 04: A 76-year-old tourist from Tamil Nadu died of cardiac arrest on Monday at the world-famous ski-resort, Gulmarg.
The deceased was identified as Kasturi wife, a resident of Rathnelu, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, staying at Hotel Royal Park in Gulmarg.
An official told the media that the woman was taken to PHC Gulmarg from where she was referred to the sub-district hospital (SDH) Tangmarg, where doctors declared her dead.
A doctor told the media, “The deceased has an asthmatic history and suffered a heart attack and died due to living in icy mountainous areas with frozen temperatures”.
He requested people associated with asthma or lung diseases to stay away from hilly or snow bound areas.
