Chief Minister’s instructions-
There is a lot of potential for micro, small and medium industries in Bihar.
There is great potential for ethanol production in the state.
Work on making sugarcane a priority for ethanol production.
Assess and work on ethanol production from agricultural residues as well.
Higher training should be made for the youth so that they can start a new industry or business.
The government will provide all possible help to those who set up new industries in the state.
Patna, 04 January 2021: – Chief Minister Nitish Kumar held a review meeting of the Department of Industries at ‘Samvad’ located at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
Additional Chief Secretary of Industries Department Mr. Brajesh Mehrotra gave a presentation related to the Department of Industries. In the presentation, detailed information was given regarding the proposed schemes under the seven-self-reliant Bihar, Chief Minister Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Extremely Backward Class Entrepreneur schemes and their implementation. Information about district industrial innovation scheme -2020, skill mapping of returned workers from other states, cluster industry’s Bettiah model was also given under cluster based schemes. The proposal prepared for sustainable development of clusters based industries was discussed in detail. Information was also given regarding plastic park scheme and electronic manufacturing cluster scheme. Along with this, the action plan for promoting ethanol production in the state, the achievements made so far under the Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Policy-2016, and also gave detailed information about accelerating industrialization in the state.
During the review, the Chief Minister said that several steps are being taken to promote entrepreneurship in the state. There is a lot of potential for micro, small and medium industries in Bihar. In our very first tenure, we sent a proposal to the Central Government to promote ethanol production in the state, but it was not accepted at that time. There is great potential for ethanol production in the state. Ethanol production is the idea of Bihar itself. I am glad that it is being worked on now. Work on making sugarcane a priority for ethanol production. This will give a boost to the sugarcane industry. Also work for the production of ethanol from corn. He said that assessing ethanol production from agricultural residues and working on it. Under the dress scheme run by the state government through skilled laborers, promotion of various other functions like making costumes for children, promoting the construction of paver blocks will increase employment as well as increase their income. Higher training should be arranged for the youth so that they can do a new industry or business. The government will provide all possible help to those who set up new industries in the state.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Mrs. Renu Devi, Chief Secretary Mr. Deepak Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary of Industries Department Mr. Brajesh Mehrotra, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Chanchal Kumar, Secretary of Industries Department Mr. Narmadeshwar Lal, Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Manish Kumar Verma, Chief Minister Secretary Shri Anupam Kumar, Special Officer of Chief Minister, Shri Gopal Singh and other senior officers of Industries Department were present.
