Save Youth Save Future Foundation Organises “Mulaqaat” Interfaith Dialogue in Pulwama.

Pulwama, August 17: Continuing the “Mulaqaat – An Interfaith Dialogue for Harmony & Shared Heritage” initiative, launched in Baramulla, the Save Youth Save Future Foundation (SYSF) today organised its Pulwama edition at Sports Stadium, Pulwama, bringing together thousands of people from different communities and walks of life. Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha addressed the gathering and flagged off the Tiranga Yatra from the venue.

Addressing the gathering, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha said that dialogue is a bridge between hearts and a pathway to trust, peace and prosperity. He emphasised that India’s diversity is its strength and highlighted the values of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and Kashmiriyat. Appreciating the efforts of SYSF, he called for expanding such initiatives and urged the youth to become ambassadors of peace, harmony and national integration.

The Lieutenant Governor outlined a roadmap centred on regular interfaith dialogues, youth peace ambassadors, preservation of shared heritage, digital literacy and countering misinformation. He also called for Village Peace Committees representing all sections of society to strengthen compassion, humanity and development, stressing that lasting harmony is built through the collective efforts of the people.

The programme served as a platform for interfaith dialogue, mutual understanding, communal harmony and reaffirmation of Jammu & Kashmir’s shared heritage. Representatives and participants from the Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian and Kashmiri Pandit communities took part in the programme and shared their perspectives on peace, coexistence and social harmony.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Mudasir Ahmad Dar, Zonal President, SYSF South Kashmir, followed by an introductory address by Ms. Anika Nazir, Women’s Wing President, SYSF, who highlighted the purpose of the Mulaqaat initiative and the importance of dialogue and mutual respect among communities.

Speakers from the participating communities spoke on peace, brotherhood, coexistence, mutual respect and the shared values that connect the people of Jammu & Kashmir. The programme highlighted the importance of strengthening social cohesion and encouraging the younger generation to uphold harmony and national unity.

The programme was attended by Shri Javaid Iqbal Mattoo, DIG South Kashmir Range; Dr. Basharat Qayoom, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama; and Ms. Tanushree, IPS, SSP, Pulwama, along with Mr. Wajahat Farooq Bhat, Chairman, Save Youth Save Future Foundation; Ms. Anika Nazir, Women’s Wing President, SYSF; Mr. Mudasir Ahmad Dar, Zonal President, SYSF South Kashmir; Mr. Jasib Shabir, District Coordinator, Pulwama; senior officials, religious representatives, civil society members, and other senior functionaries of the organisation.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Wajahat Farooq Bhat, Chairman, Save Youth Save Future Foundation, who expressed gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor, dignitaries, religious representatives, speakers, participants and all those associated with the successful conduct of the programme.

The Pulwama edition of Mulaqaat concluded with a renewed commitment to peace, communal harmony, mutual respect, national unity and the shared heritage of Jammu & Kashmir.
