Darbhanga MLA Sanjay Saraogi to formally assume charge as Bihar BJP President tomorrow
Patna, December 17:
After being appointed as the Bihar State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Darbhanga MLA Sanjay Saraogi visited several prominent pilgrimage sites, ancient places, and temples across Darbhanga and the Mithila region. During his visit, he offered prayers and sought blessings from his revered deities.
As part of this spiritual journey, Sanjay Saraogi reached Kusheshwarsthan, where he performed Jalabhishek of Baba Kusheshwar Nath and prayed for the welfare of the people and overall public well-being.
In this sequence, the BJP State President visited the Shyama Mai Temple of his birthplace and karmabhoomi, Shyam Baba Temple, Shivajinagar, Jwalamukhi Shakti Peeth at Kasraur, Maa Haihatt Devi, Jagdamba Dham at Nawada, Benipur, and Baba Hazarinath Temple in Darbhanga, offering prayers and seeking divine blessings at each sacred site.
Sanjay Saraogi’s deep affection for Mithila and his native land has always been evident in his conduct. It is a long-standing tradition of Mithila that every auspicious beginning starts with paying homage to one’s land and presiding deities. Upholding this cultural ethos, upon being entrusted with the responsibility of State President, the son of Mithila chose to first bow his head at the holy soil of Mithila and seek blessings from its revered shrines before any formal engagement.
This reflects his identity and values, where Mithila and its sacred soil always remain paramount. Respect for one’s roots and staying connected with the people are defining traits of his personality that have guided him on this journey.
Following his appointment as State President, a wave of enthusiasm swept across Darbhanga among city residents and BJP workers. He was accorded a grand welcome at multiple locations with drumbeats, slogans, flower showers, and celebrations, turning the entire city into a festive spectacle.
At his Darbhanga residence, a continuous stream of well-wishers gathered to congratulate him. Local public representatives, social workers, intellectuals, members of the business community, and citizens from all walks of life visited his residence to extend their greetings.
Sanjay Saraogi also visited Shri Shyam Baba Temple in Shivajinagar, where he paid obeisance to Khatu Naresh. Thereafter, he visited the temple of his Kul Guru at Gandhi Chowk, where he bowed in accordance with family tradition and sought blessings.
On Wednesday morning, amid the warm reception of thousands of party workers, he reached the famous Baba Kusheshwarsthan Temple, popularly known as the Babadhham of Mithila, and offered prayers to Lord Shiva. During the rituals, he prayed for the prosperity of the state, strengthening of the organization, and public welfare.
Throughout the journey to Kusheshwarsthan, party workers welcomed him enthusiastically at various points along the route. Subsequently, he visited the ancient Jwalamukhi Temple at Kasraur, a revered Shakti Peeth where devotees believe the Goddess bestows special blessings and fulfillment of wishes. He then offered prayers at the Nawada Bhagwati Temple, regarded as a historically significant center of Shakti worship in the Mithila region.
Later, accompanied by hundreds of supporters, he visited the renowned Hazarinath Temple in Darbhanga and offered prayers to Lord Shiva. On this occasion, he remarked that the temple is an integral part of Mithila’s religious identity and remains thronged with devotees throughout the year.
It is noteworthy that Sanjay Saraogi is a six-time MLA from the Darbhanga Nagar Assembly constituency and has also served as a minister in the Bihar Government. Darbhanga is his birthplace, and his association with Mithila’s social and cultural consciousness dates back to his childhood. His first visit after becoming State President clearly conveys that Mithila, its traditions, faith, and people remain his top priority.
The newly appointed BJP State President, Sanjay Saraogi, will arrive in Patna tomorrow and formally assume charge at the party’s state headquarters.
